I believe in this situation the house should have yielded to the boat on the trailer. However, if the boat hadn't been on a trailer it would've been the house's right of way.

If the captain's on board he's in charge but the next one is the Skipper.

That's why I listen to him unless he's not there in which case I'm supposed to listen to the parrot.

We don't have a parrot, but he's still ranked above me.

Sometimes I do things without asking the parrot and that's the whole story, officer.

Oh so many relevant circumstances here; larger vessel right of way, sailing vessel not under power, inland narrow channel. This could really take some time to navigate through the regulations.
